Range

Costa Rica: montane forests above about 800m, in all the cordilleras.

Identification

Eyes large, composed of 10 or more partially fused facets; in full face view eyes project enough to break lateral outline of head; puncta on face similar in size to interspaces, face feebly shining; petiolar node thin, tapering to a narrowly rounded summit; color very dark red brown to black. Measurement data.

Natural History

This species occurs in cloud forest and mid-montane wet forest throughout Costa Rica. It inhabits leaf litter on the forest floor, occurring regularly in Winkler samples.
