Natural History
These are ants of open areas and synanthropic habitats that can be expected in any low to midelevation urban area in Costa Rica. I have found workers in the town square of La Cruz in Guanacaste Province (C. emeryi were in the same collection), and I have seen a collection of workers from an Anacardium trunk in Pavones. Alate queens have been collected in Malaise traps at La Selva Biological Station. John Noyes collected workers in sweepnet samples from Arenal National Park.
