Basal margin of mandible flat, without a notch; anterior margin of clypeus with broad rectangular notch, about as broad as anterior projections of frontal lobes, outer edges of notch forming low rounded to angular teeth; center of notch with variable development of two medial teeth; compared to JTL-011, clypeal notch is shallower and less sharply defined; face uniformly foveate; upper side of head smooth; most of side of mesosoma smooth and shining; propodeum with distinct angle or small tooth separating dorsal and posterior faces; WL greater than 1mm.
Similar species: Stenamma JTL-011.
Natural History
I know this species from a series of Winkler samples taken in mature to second growth montane forest at Estaci—n Pittier, in the Cordillera de Talamanca.
Comments
This species is very similar to Stenamma JTL-011. It has the same face sculpture, structure of the anterior clypeal margin, mesosoma shape, petiole shape and sculpture, and postpetiole shape and sculpture. It differs in having the anterior clypeal notch less sharply defined, a patch on the side of the head and posterior to the eyes smooth and shiny, and the promesonotum smoother, especially on the side.
