Natural History
I know this species from the 1500m site (Finca Murillo) on the Barva transect in Braulio Carrillo National Park. It was very abundant in the open pasture areas. I saw populous colonies in dead wood and in chambers in the clay soil. I also collected from a nest in a nearby patch of mature forest, beneath a stone at a stream edge. Two of the nests from which I collected contained single queens, and thus the species may be monogynous.
