Identification
Face with flexuous setae; face coarsely rugose over disk, except for narrow median smooth area; setae on face and mesosoma long, abundant, and erect.
Geography
Nicaragua, Costa Rica. In Costa Rica, known from two Atlantic slope sites: 800m in the Penas Blancas Valley, and 50m at the La Selva Biological Station.
Natural History
Inhabits wet forest leaf litter. Presumed predaceous. The type specimen (from Tuli Creek, near San Miguel, Nicaragua) was in the stomach of a toad, Dendrobates tinctorius, found on the forest floor (Brown 1953).
How to collect
Sift litter from mature wet forest floor and extract in Berlese
funnel or Winkler bag.
