Identification
Color red-brown; 6-segmented antennae; face punctate; sides of posterior half of mesosoma completely and densely punctulate; face and mesosoma with abundant, stiff, short setae (stubble); head elongate and strongly flattened in lateral view.
Geography
As of Kempf 1972 known from type specimen from Guyana and a second collection from Panama; here added two specimens from Costa Rica (300m, "Zona Protectora" of Braulio Carrillo National Park; 100m, Hitoy Cerere Biological Reserve).
Natural History
Inhabits wet forest floor. One worker observed foraging nocturnally. Presumed predaceous.
How to collect
This species is rare and/or difficult to collect. Costa Rican
specimens include one from a sifted litter sample, another a nocturnal
forager.
