Range

Costa Rica: La Selva Biological Station, north slope Volcan Barba at 500m, Penas Blancas Valley.

Identification

In usual resting position, mandibles flush against anterior border of clypeus; masticatory margin of mandible subequal in length to basal margin, and with 4-5 blunt teeth; clypeus large and triangular, completely concealing labrum; petiolar node relatively elongate, with dorsal face sloping toward anterior foramen, anterior face confluent with dorsal face, in dorsal view sides converging anteriorly but not concave; dorsal face of propodeum transversely striate.

Measurements: HL 2.248, HW (not including eyes) 1.512, SL 3.614, EL 0.566, WL 4.430, based on specimen INBIOCRI001279733.

Natural History

I have seen 5 specimens of this species, each an isolated worker collected on the ground. One of the workers I observed carrying phalangid prey.
