Formicidae, Hymenoptera, Insecta, Arthropoda, Animalia
Range
Costa Rica (Osa Peninsula).
Identification
Antennae 12-segmented.
Natural History
Among Costa Rican material I know this species only from one collection from Corcovado National Park. Dana Meyers, an undergraduate at the University of Texas in the early 1980's, collected a colony or colony fragment in a rotten log at Sirena. I have a couple of collections from Winkler samples from Venezuela and Colombia. They have 12-segmented antennae but differ in other characters, so "neotropicus" is probably a lineage with multiple species.
