Natural History
I know this species from relatively few collections. I collected it in Winkler samples of sifted leaf litter from Hitoy Cerere and Pe–as Blancas (Refugio Eladio), both wet forest sites. I also collected workers in a sweep sample of low vegetation at La Pita along the road to Monteverde. This was scrubby roadside vegetation in a highly seasonal and agricultural landscape. Mary Cornelius, an OTS student, did field project at Tortuguero, sampling ants from domatia on Tococa leaves. One domatium contained a nest of this species, with queen and males.
