Identification

Minor worker: head length 0.60mm, head width 0.56mm, scape length 0.62mm, Webers length 0.75mm (n=1). Head slightly flattened behind; mesonotal suture absent, promesonotum evenly arched; propodeal spines of moderate length; face, pronotum, and propodeal dorsum smooth and shining; katepisternum and side of propodeum foveolate; gaster smooth and shining; dorsal pilosity moderately abundant, long, flexuous; color dark brown.

Major worker: head length 1.04mm, head width 1.00mm, scape length 0.64mm (n=1). Anterior half of face with longitudinal, subparallel rugae, posterior half smooth and shining; hypostomal margin gently curved, with small, inconspicuous median tooth, and pair of minute teeth about half distance to recessed teeth flanking mandible bases; dorsal pilosity abundant; head with abundant, suberect setae projecting from sides of head in face view.

Range

Costa Rica: southern highlands.

Natural History

This species occurs in mature wet forest leaf litter.
