Identification

Minor worker: head length 0.45mm, head width 0.42mm, scape length 0.38mm, Webers length 0.52mm (n=1). Head flattened behind, with shallow median excavation; mesonotal suture absent; promesonotum somewhat box-like in profile; propodeal spines short, subtriangular; humeri and sides of pronotum somewhat produced, such that posterolateral face of pronotum slopes inward; face and mesosoma uniformly foveolate except for shiny patch on posterolateral pronotum; posterior face of propodeum uniformly foveolate (in contrast to otisi, on which it is smooth and shining); first gastral tergum smooth and shining; dorsal pilosity sparse, short, stiff; color orange.

Major worker: head length 0.82mm, head width 0.66mm, scape length 0.36mm (n=1). Face foveolate, overlain with faint longitudinal rugae anteriorly, reticulate rugae posteriorly; antennal scrobes weakly present in the form of shallow depressions beneath apices of scapes; hypostomal margin straight, with median tooth (may be inconspicuous to absent) and pointed lateral teeth about one third distance from midline to recessed teeth flanking mandible bases; dorsal pilosity abundant; head with short, suberect setae projecting from sides of head in face view.

Penas Blancas Valley: mature wet forest. Nest in two separated internodes of small Cecropia insignis sapling.

San Vito: mature wet forest. Nest in single internode of Cecropia insignis sapling.
