Identification

Minor worker: head length 1.04mm, head width 0.82mm, scape length 1.43mm, Webers length 1.40mm (n=1). Head with vertex collar present but small; promesonotal and metanotal grooves well impressed; propodeal spines very long and spiniform; face smooth and shining; pronotum largely smooth and shining, with faint and patchy punctation; anepisternum foveolate; katepisternum foveolate with longitudinal rugae; propodeum foveolate on sides and dorsum; pilosity long, coarse, dark brown.

Major worker: head length 1.65mm, head width 1.57mm, scape length 1.34mm (n=1). Face generally shiny with faint punctation over most of surface, smooth and shiny medial patch, irregular rugae on anterior third; sides of head with abundant, coarse, dark brown, erect setae.

Range

Costa Rica: southern Pacific slope highlands.

Natural History

Known from single collection from San Vito area (Wilson Botanical Garden): moist forest; under dead wood.
