Range

Costa Rica: Cordillera Volcanica Central, Braulio Carrillo National Park, Barva transect at 19-2000m.

Identification

Minor worker: head length 0.61mm, head width 0.58mm, scape length 0.49mm, Webers length 0.71mm (n=1). Head flat behind; mesonotal suture absent; propodeal spines medium length, erect; face and most of mesosoma punctatorugose; side of pronotum smooth and shining; first gastral tergum smooth and shining; dorsal pilosity of medium abundance, moderate length, moderately stiff; tibiae with dense pilosity of uniform length, subdecumbent, shorter than width of tibia; color red brown.

Similar species: prolixa, beloceps, JTL-140, rectitrudis.

Natural History

This species occurs in montane wet forest, in leaf litter on the forest floor. It is known from one locality: Cordillera Volcanica Central, Braulio Carrillo National Park, Barva transect at 19-2000m. Minor workers occurred in several Project ALAS Winkler samples of sifted litter.
