Formicidae, Hymenoptera, Insecta, Arthropoda, Animalia
Range
Costa Rica: Rio Torro Amarillo, near Guapiles.
Identification
Worker: first gastral tergum with long erect setae restricted to anterior third; Weber's length around 1.0mm. Queen: Weber's length about 1.3mm.
I know this from one collection I examined at MCZC; collected by Bill Brown. It looks like a very large version of scrobiculatus, but the worker has the first gastral tergum only partially covered with long erect setae (thus intermediate between scrobiculatus and plaumanni).
