Octhispa Chapius 1877:23.

Body moderately attenuate or very narrow. Head: small; clypeus prominent, punctured; eyes slightly prominent; vertex with medial sulcus. Antennae: moderately long or short, 7- to 9-segmented, more or less club-shaped; last segment rounded, middle segments compressed. Pronotum: narrowed anteriorly; prescutellar impression present; punctate. Scutellum: quadrangular, angles rounded. Elytra: 7 or 8 rows of punctures; tricostate; apex rounded, emarginate or truncate; humerus with large tooth; side and apical margins dentate.
