Octhispa elegantula Baly

Elongate; reddish-yellow, elytra with metallic blue markings. Head: smooth; medial carina; frons projecting. Antennae: segments I-II transverse, I longer and wider than II; III cylindrical, longer than II; IV-VII transverse; VIII elongate, bluntly rounded at apex. Pronotum: wider than long; side margins straight, nearly parallel from base to beyond middle, then rounded and converging to apex; anterior angles with short, subacute tooth; convex; depressed behind middle; coarsely rugose-punctate. Scutellum: triangular; alutaceous. Elytra: parallel-sided; slightly constricted at sides; apices rounded; side margins finely serrulate; apical margins more strongly, irregularly serrulate; notch at sutural angle; each elytron with 8 rows of rows of punctures, row 8 obsolete in middle; intervals 2, 4, and 6 strongly costate. Venter: mesosternum punctate laterally; abdominal sterna rugose laterally. Legs: femora punctate; tibiae with fringe of setae at apex. Total length: 5.6 mm.
