Large, subdepressed, yellowish-brown, eyes dark, black vittae on pronotum and elytra. Head: yellow; impunctate; fine median carina; not depressed between eyes; keel between antennae; frons projecting. Antennae: less than half body length; segment I incrassate, clavate, as long as II-IV combined; I, II, XI yellowish, III-X dark; II-IV compressed with interior projection; V-X transverse, subequal in length; XI rounded at apex; IV-XI setose. Pronotum: transverse; much narrower than base of elytra; flattened; scattered, fine punctures; sometimes with longitudinal median vitta; sides margined, parallel and straight for basal 3/4'ths then rounded and convergent; anterior angles rounded, slightly produced. Scutellum: elongate, acutely triangular; smooth, black. Elytra: sides margined, smooth, parallel; apices individually rounded; finely punctate-striate; puncture rows converge and unite at apex, but are slightly confused; yellow with sutural and lateral vittae; two black maculae after middle. Venter: yellowish; pro-, meso-, and metasterna smooth; abdominal sterna 1 and 2 fused in middle; sterna 3-5 setose; last sternite weakly rounded in male, bisinuate in female. Legs: yellowish; tibiae dentate at apex, with setae on inner apical third. Total length: 8.1-9.0 mm. Adults collected in young rolled leaves of Heliconia sp. (Musaceae-Heliconioideae) and Calathea insignis (Marantaceae). |
