Cephaloleia tenella Baly

Small, black with paler margins. Head: vertex and front densely punctate; medial sulcus absent; frons not projecting. Antennae: filiform; slightly longer than head and pronotum combined; slightly thickened toward apex; segments I-II transverse, subequal in length, I not thickened; III cylindrical, slightly longer than I or II; IV-X transverse, subequal in length; XI pointed at apex. Pronotum: slightly wider than long; disc transversely convex; deeply but not densely punctate; sides margined, canaliculate, straight, parallel, abruptly rounded and converging to apex; apical margin convex, sinuate on each side. Scutellum: pentagonal. Elytra: wider than base of pronotum; sides margined, smooth; parallel at sides, obtusely rounded at apex; regularly punctate-striate, punctures little impressed; rows of punctures converge and unite at apex. Venter: pro-, meso-, and metasterna smooth in middle, punctate at sides; abdominal sterna setose. Legs: femora robust. Total length: 3.4-3.6 mm.

Adults collected on palm leaves (Areaceae).
