Cephaloleia metallescens Baly

Metallic blue, legs yellowish. Head: vertex punctate, depressed between eyes; medial carina present; frons not projecting. Antennae: half body length; segments I and III subequal in length; II slightly shorter; I and apical half of XI reddish; I-III cylindrical; IV-X transverse, subequal in length; XI pointed at apex; IV-XI setose. Pronotum: nearly twice as wide as long; densely punctate; disc transversely convex, depressed on each side; sides margined, paler than rest, straight, converging from base to apex, reflexed; anterior angles not produced, rounded; posterior angles acute. Scutellum: pentagonal, smooth. Elytra: broadly oblong-ovate; convex; punctate-striate, striae sulcate; rows of punctures obsolete at apex; sides margined, smooth; humeri slightly produced, callus extends on base to scutellum. Venter: pro- and mesosterna punctate; metasternum smooth in middle, punctate at sides; abdominal sterna setose. Legs: setose. Total length: 3.1-3.3 mm.
