Cephaloleia elegantula Baly

Antennae, except segment I, black; head and legs yellow; pronotum yellow with black median vitta; elytra yellow with black median vitta expanding broadly to apex, recurving slightly in graceful arch almost following contour of elytral margin at apical fifth. Head: finely punctate near eyes; median sulcus present; not depressed between eyes; frons not projecting. Antennae: two-thirds body length; filiform; segment I shorter than II; II-IV longer, subequal in length; segment I reddish, rest black; I cylindrical; II transverse, robust; III cylindrical, longer than II; IV-VII cylindrical; VIII-X transverse; XI pointed at apex. Pronotum: wider than long; reddish-yellow with black central macula; punctate, more so on sides; sides margined, parallel from base to beyond middle, then obliquely rounded and converging to apex; anterior angles moderately produced, obtuse; posterior angles acute. Scutellum: pentagonal; black. Elytra: wider than pronotum; subelongate; sides margined, smooth; parallel anteriorly, slightly converging beyond middle; apices conjointly rounded; puncture rows moderately impressed; row 10 removed from margin entire length. Venter: prosternum yellow, punctate at sides; meso- and metasterna dark at sides. Legs: yellowish-brown. Total length: 3.7-4.2 mm.

Adults collected in palm frond (Areaceae).
