Cephaloleia congener Baly

Light reddish-brown, antennae and eyes darker. Head: small; vertex and front finely punctate; medial sulcus absent. Antennae: less than half body length; filiform; black, segment I reddish-black; I cylindrical, subequal in length to III; II transverse in female, triangular in male; III triangular in male, cylindrical in female; IV-X cylindrical, decreasing in length; XI pointed at apex. Pronotum: transverse; finely punctured; sides straight, diverging from base to middle, then rounded and converging to apex; apical angles obtuse. Scutellum: scarcely longer than wide; pentagonal; smooth. Elytra: convex; lateral margins sinuate before middle, smooth; finely punctate-striate; oblong-ovate; apices individually rounded; declivity after puncture row 7; humeri rounded. Venter: pro-, meso-, and metasterna smooth in middle, punctate at sides; abdominal sterna setose; last sternite incised in male, truncate in female. Legs: femora robust; tibiae expanded to apex, with fringe of setae at apex. Total length: 6.6-7.4 mm.

Adults collected on H. latispatha Bentham and H. tortuosa Griggs.
