Carinispa Uhmann 1930a:255.

Black with orange markings on pronotum and base of elytra. Head: vertex trisulcate, impunctate; frons projecting. Antennae: 8-segmented; segment I subglobular; II transverse; III-V cylindrical; VI-VII transverse; VIII pointed at apex. Pronotum: wider than long; convex; densely punctate; basal impression present; anterior angles with tooth; widest at base. Scutellum: quadrate. Elytra: 8 regular rows of punctures; costae weakly carinate; side margins sparsely dentate; apical margins dentate. Venter: abdomen yellowish, rest black.
