Baliosus sp.2 Staines ms.

Hispinae, Chrysomelidae, Coleoptera, Insecta, Arthropoda, Animalia


Reddish-brown. Head: medial sulcus present, becomes carina before base of antennae; sulcus present on inner margin of each eye; vertex alutaceous and micropunctate; ridge present at base of antennae; frons alutaceous. Antennae: segment I subglobose; II-X transverse; XI pointed at apex; I-VI punctate, VII-XI wider and setose. Pronotum: lateral margins slightly angulate in middle, straight and parallel for basal half, then convergent; tooth present in each anterior angle; basal impression present; transverse; convex; covered with large, shallow punctures. Scutellum: quadrate; micropunctate. Elytra: lateral and apical margins dentate; humeri angulate; punctures large, slightly confluent; vitta on lateral margin for basal half; exterior apical angles laminate with small macula. Venter: prosternum punctate medially, alutaceous laterally; mesosternum smooth medially, alutaceous laterally; mestasternum smooth medially, alutaceous and punctate laterally; abdominal sterna punctate laterally. Legs: pale yellow, tarsi darker. Total length: 4.9 mm.
