Baliosus sp.1 Staines ms.

Yellow with black markings. Head: yellow; medial sulcus deep, black; punctate along eyes; carina present a base of antennae. Antennae: castanceous, apices darker; segment I subglobose; II-X transverse; XI pointed at apex; I-VI with setae; VII-XI setose. Pronotum: lateral margins angulate in middle, parallel for basal half, then convergent; tooth present in each anterior angle; basal impression present; basal longitudinal sulcus present; convex; large, deep punctures; mostly black with yellow markings. Scutellum: quadrate; black; alutaceous. Elytra: humeri triangularly produced; costae 1 and 2 highly produced at base, 2 sinuate; lateral and apical margins dentate; mostly black with scattered yellow maculae; puncture rows 5-6 interrupted by sinuation of costa 2. Venter: pro- and mesoterna black ; prosternum punctate medially, alutaceous laterally; mesosternum yellowish and smooth medially, black and punctate laterally; abdominal sterna yellowish, punctate laterally. Legs: coxae black, punctate; remainder yellowish, tarsi darker; tibiae and femora punctate. Total length: 5.0 mm.
