Identification

Natural History

This species is known from males only. The diminutive males are known from La Selva and the 500m site on the Barva transect. The La Selva specimens are from five different Malaise samples and one blacklight trap sample. Specimens were taken in January, February, March, April, and September. At the 500m site specimens occurred in five different Malaise samples and one flight intercept trap sample. Specimens were taken in February, March, and April, but these were the only months when sampling occurred. The fact that most specimens are from Malaise traps and only rarely from light traps, in spite of an 18-month program of light trapping at La Selva and light trapping at the 500m site, suggests the males are diurnal fliers.
