This genus has the general habitus of a small cryptopone, a single mesotibial spur and minutely dentate mandible like Hypoponera, and an anterior petiolar fenestra like Ponera. It is known from a single specimen. This is a new singleton for the Barva transect ant inventory. It follows the inexplicable pattern for any inventory of a diverse fauna that no matter how intensively you sample, additional rare species will keep trickling in.
