Face and vertex completely lacking erect setae; head in side view convex above and below, not flattened (compare with longinoi).

Geography

Panama, Costa Rica. Known from Barro Colorado Island in Panama (type locality) and La Selva Biological Station (50m elevation on the Atlantic slope of Costa Rica).

Natural History

Inhabits wet forest leaf litter. Presumed predaceous.

How to collect

These are uncommon ants known from few collections. Sift litter from mature wet forest floor and extract in Berlese funnel or Winkler bag.
