Range

Southern Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica (Atlantic slope).

Identification

Petiole lacking posteriorly-directed tooth; mandible subfalcate, without well-differentiated basal margin; eyes small, with only a few facets.

Comments

A worker was collected from a Winkler sample of sifted leaf litter from the forest floor, one of the samples from Conservation International's TEAM project (AMI-1-W-079-06), from mature lowland wet forest of La Selva Biological Station. An alate queen was collected in a Project ALAS Malaise trap, at the 500m elevation site on the Barva Transect above La Selva, Feb-Apr 2003.
