Range

Costa Rica, Venezuela. Costa Rica: Atlantic coast.

Identification

Antennae 9-segmented, so small it is hard to count the five segments between the two-segmented club and the larger first funicular segment; mesosoma relatively elongate; propodeal suture impressed; propodeum with separate dorsal face rounding into posterior face; petiole with distinct acicular anteroventral tooth.

Natural History

I know this species from two collections:

Costa Rica, Prov. Limon, 25km NW Cahuita: coconut strand along beach edge; nest under debris (dead wood or old coconut husk) on ground. This collection contained major workers.

Venezuela, Barinas State, 17km SW Cd. Bolivia (Ticoporo forest reserve), 240m: dense second growth with few larger trees; ex sifted leaf litter (Winkler sample).
