Identification

Mandibles much longer than head, with multiple preapical teeth or denticles; face largely shiny.

Range

Colombia, Costa Rica. Costa Rica: Atlantic lowlands.

Natural History

Inhabits lowland to lower montane wet forest; nests in rotten twigs or small pieces of rotten wood on the forest floor; predaceous on small arthropods.

Selected Records

Winkler samples from La Selva Biological Station, Braulio Carrillo National Park to 600m.

La Selva: colony with 1 queen, 1 worker in small chamber in rotten stick at side of stream.
