Range
Costa Rica: mostly Atlantic slope, from sea level to 1500m cloud forest; one collection from southern Pacific lowlands.
Identification
Color yellow; head long and relatively thin; clypeal carinae strongly divergent, ending in short teeth; mandible with basal tooth a small dentical, distant from larger third tooth; pilosity relatively long and sparse; promesonotum and propodeum forming two convexities separated by a broadly V-shaped metanotal groove.
In the Monteverde area the basal mandibular tooth may be larger and the clypeal teeth more pronounced. On some Monteverde material the propodeum is more sloping.
Similar species: JTL-021, JTL-029.
Natural History
This species is mainly encountered as workers in Winkler samples. Workers have also been taken at baits on the forest floor.
