Range
Ecuador, Colombia, Costa Rica. Costa Rica: southwestern lowlands.
Identification
Very dense, flexuous, erect hairs on dorsa of head, mesosoma and gaster; no decumbent or appressed pilosity; promesonotum uniformly and densely areolate; metanotum forms an abrupt declivity between promesonotum and propodeum; WL 0.85-0.96mm.
Notes
Kugler (1994) described the species based on material from Ecuador and Colombia. Several collections were from the western slope of the Andes and the coastal range of northern Ecuador. One worker was from the eastern side of the central cordillera in northern Colombia. All the sites were from 300-800m elevation, probably from Berlese samples. We report here the first Costa Rican collections. Longino collected specimens in Winkler samples from 19km S Ciudad Neily, and Rancho Quemado on the Osa Peninsula. Both sites are under 200m elevation.
