Range

The type locality for testacea is southeastern USA, probably North or South Carolina (Smith and Wing 1955), and the species has also been reported for Cuba (Alayo and Zayas Montera 1977).

Type data

Discothyrea testacea Roger 1863:177. Syntype worker, queen: USA (possibly North or South Carolina, see Smith and Wing 1955).
