Range

British Columbia to S. California. Peripheral localities: Medicine Hat, Alberta; Grand Canyon, Hualapai and Prescott, Arizona; Steamboat Springs, Colorado (Gordon 1985).

Identification

2.3- 3.1 mm long, 1.7- 2.3 mm wide. Form elongate and oval, somewhat flattened. Elytra immaculate except for a single apical spot variable in size and shape. Postcoxal line present, incomplete, extending to hind margin of first abdominal sternum. Prosternum with 2 converging carinae. Antennae 11- segmented, insertion exposed.

Natural History

Feeds on families of Homoptera, especially aphids and scale insects.
