Identification

This species is small (8.2-8.5 mm) and dark brouwn to yellow-brown, elytra often with a trace of irridescent lustre. Prothorax strongly constricted towards base; third elytral stria with three to four dorsal punctures.

Range

Western North America from the Kenai Peninsula, Alaska to Oregon, extending to western Alberta.

Natural History

Restricted to lowland areas of deciduous forest; adults found in red alder leaf litter or on moist half shaded ground usually near running water. Often found under Alnus and Salix bushes.
