Identification
The more robust of our species, with a body length of 10 - 15 mm; recognized by presence of setigerous punctures on both third and fifth interval; the first antennal segment pale, legs piceous to clear red.
Range
This is a Palaearctic species found in Europe east to Iran. Introduced to North America in 1928. In Canada, known only from British Columbia.
Natural History Primarily synanthropic and found on open ground with meadow or weedy vegetation. At TESC this species is known only from a parking lot located near the campus core.
